WE ALWAYS have some trails open in Sawyer County!! The TUSCOBIA TRAIL (within the boundaries of Sawyer County), the 9 MILE LOOP (loop on and off of the Tuscobia near Couderay and Lemington), the LCO CASINO TRAIL is open to the Tuscobia, as well as the Hwy 63 railroad grade up to Seeley, and any township ATV routes.
SAWYER COUNTY LAND ATV TRAILS may open May 15th! The forest administrator will evaluate the conditions at that time and determine if the trails will open.
The best riding of the year is upon us! Come ride the best ATV/Side x Side trail system in Wisconsin per the 2011 Wisconsin ATV Association voting contest. We have hundreds of miles of trails in Sawyer County to ride! They offer something for every rider; long rides, short rides, touring the sites, and much more!
Currently Side by Sides (UTV) are allowed on all ATV Trails and Routes in Sawyer County except those located on the Chequamegon National Forest, which has a Maximum 50" width limit.

The 74-mile Tuscobia State Trail is one of the longest in Wisconsin to be converted from a rail corridor. It runs from Park Falls west to a junction with the Wild Rivers State Trail just north of Rice Lake. It cuts through parts of Barron, Washburn, Sawyer and Price counties, passing through part of the Flambeau river State Forest and the rugged terrain of Wisconsin’s Blue Hills.
Non-Resident Trail Pass is Required for ATVs.
ATV routes in the city do not give access to out of city limits.
