Cable Natural History Museum
Our Mission: Connecting people to Northwoods nature through educational experiences that inspire wonder, discovery, and responsibility.
Offering exciting exhibits and programs for children, adults and families. Naturalist led hikes, river and forest explorations, bird watching, engaging lectures, and live raptor programs are just a few of the educational experiences we provide to residents, visitors and vacationers in the Cable Area of Northern Wisconsin.
And since we house a collection of Northwoods natural history with over 4000 specimens – you’ll be sure to see some wildlife during your visit!
Our NEW Curiosity Center Children’s Exhibit (opening in May 2019) features a two-story indoor treehouse with eagle’s nest, climbing traverse wall, a puppet theater, and Flying Squirrel Zip Line!
Bring the family over to our Wayside Wanderings Natural Play Area to explore the short trails, play amongst the trees, and check out our Treehouse.
Don’t forget to visit the Museum Gift Shop where you’ll find items for nature lovers of all ages including puppets, toys, games and puzzles, books, reference guides, maps, cards, jewelry and more!
