This past week cooled from the mild and sunny weekend fishing opener, but warmer, mid-60s to upper-70s temperatures are in the works, albeit with a few showers possible. Nighttime lows are rising as well, moving out of (some) 20s and into the upper 30s and 50s! Look for windy days ahead, so if you are on water early, but sure to bring a jacket!

The gamefish opener this past weekend brought sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s, though 23-degree lows Saturday and Sunday mornings made for chilly starts both days. Saturday’s Family Fishing Day at Lake Hayward Park and beach drew a good turnout of smiling anglers of all ages. This week, look for temperatures ranging from upper-20 lows to 60-degree highs, with rain showers possible Thursday.

The forecast looks promising for the Wisconsin gamefish opener this weekend, with sunshine and highs of 61 degrees Saturday and 65 Sunday. It looks to be a dandy opener!

The Sunday night/Monday morning low hit 16 degrees and maybe that will be the end of such low temperatures for this spring. The lowest low forecast for this week is twice that, with highs in the upper-60s to mid-70s. Look for sunshine for much of the week, but rain going into the weekend. Enjoy those good days when you can!

The forecast for this week is another roller-coaster ride, with highs from 47 to 72 degrees, lows from 23 to 47 degrees, and chances for rain and/or thunderstorms nearly every day. It is definitely spring in the North Woods!

The forecast for this week looks “kinda, sorta, somewhat” better than in the past week, with warmer temperatures, but still some rain and snow chances. We should also see some sunshine and high temperatures into the mid-60s with this trend (i.e., spring weather!) that will continue into next week. Enjoy the sunshine, warmth, and maybe seeing spots of green grass here and there!

Following the sunny 65 degrees we enjoyed this past Sunday, and 56 degrees Monday, the forecast for this week is somewhat disappointing. Look for highs ranging from 37 to 45 degrees, lows from 31 to 22 degrees, and rain and/or snow chances throughout the week, including the possibility of up to two inches of snow Wednesday. Do not intend to rain on your Easter Sunday parade (so to speak), but blame the National Weather Service!

Look for sunshine and mild temperatures in the 40s/50s Monday thru Wednesday this week. There are rain chances Wednesday night thru Thursday, sunshine and 37 degrees Friday, then warmer and sunny thru the weekend. Maybe. Forecast and what occurs are not always the same but that can go both ways!

The big storm, with up to 32 inches of snow, predicted for the Hayward area this past weekend, fortunately did not meet expectations, but did deliver enough with strong winds to cause travel issues. Temperatures in the mid- to upper-40s and some sunshine this week should remove some (much?) of the snow.

Monday’s sunshine and 52 degrees is not a precursor for the remainder of this week! From Tuesday through the weekend, cooler temperatures prevail, including chances of snow except Thursday morning and Friday. Sunday shows chances of heavy snow possible. As always, the forecast is subject to change.
