Hot temperatures in the 90-degree range, with rain and thunderstorms possible, are in the forecast for this week through Saturday, July 4th Independence Day. Watch the heat, watch the sky ‑ and watch the fireworks!

The forecast shows mixed chances for rain and sunshine this week. Highs remain in the 70s until a warming trend begins Sunday, with lows in the 40s. Days are great for outdoor activities; nights are great for sleeping! Sunday, June 21, was picture perfect for Father’s Day, the first day of summer, Summer Solstice, and longest day of the year. The downside ‑ hours of daylight now become shorter each day!

A sunny Monday begins what the forecast predicts is a mild and rainy week (maybe), with highs mostly in the 70s and lows in the 40s. The forecast has fluctuated considerably, so enjoy the good weather, but keep an eye on the sky!

The forecast predicts 30- to 90-percent chances of rain for most days this week into next week. That also means 70- to 10-percent chances against it. This week, highs run in the upper 70s to upper 80s, and lows in the 50- to 60-degree range.

The forecast calls for “chances” of showers and/or thunderstorms from Wednesday night through next Monday, with highs in the low to mid-80s. It is June, but we are still three weeks away from summer!

If you have longed for warm/hot weather, long no more! The forecast for this week shows highs in the mid- to upper-80s, with near 90 degrees Tuesday, and no rain at least through next Monday. Did summer leapfrog over spring? Enjoy it now, but expect somewhat cooler temperatures following this warm trend!

The forecast calls for a cooler week ahead, with lows in the 30s/40s, highs in the 50s/60s, and a warming trend for the weekend. Rain, wind, and sunshine are all in the mix ‑ so… typical spring weather in the North Woods.

This past week cooled from the mild and sunny weekend fishing opener, but warmer, mid-60s to upper-70s temperatures are in the works, albeit with a few showers possible. Nighttime lows are rising as well, moving out of (some) 20s and into the upper 30s and 50s! Look for windy days ahead, so if you are on water early, but sure to bring a jacket!

The gamefish opener this past weekend brought sunny skies and temperatures in the 60s, though 23-degree lows Saturday and Sunday mornings made for chilly starts both days. Saturday’s Family Fishing Day at Lake Hayward Park and beach drew a good turnout of smiling anglers of all ages. This week, look for temperatures ranging from upper-20 lows to 60-degree highs, with rain showers possible Thursday.

The forecast looks promising for the Wisconsin gamefish opener this weekend, with sunshine and highs of 61 degrees Saturday and 65 Sunday. It looks to be a dandy opener!
