Ice conditions improved somewhat from last week, and upcoming cold weather, with the forecast showing little to no significant snowfall.

Anglers are hitting the early ice in good numbers, but fluctuating temperatures are affecting ice thickness daily so be safe.

Most lakes now have “some” ice cover, but conditions vary between lakes and locations on lakes. Use extreme caution.

Temperatures turned cold, so this is likely the end of open water fishing reports for this season, big lakes could remain open a bit longer.

Take advantage of the somewhat moderate temperatures through Wednesday’s 42-degree high and 20-degree low, as a significant change is coming to the North Woods this week.

This week offers mild weather for anglers who choose to take advantage of the pleasant fishing conditions.

While open water fishing season is winding down, it is not over yet. Conditions are not for everyone, but this is the time to catch big fish.
