The current forecast shows 40-degree highs through the weekend, sunshine and a few rain showers possible, and lows ranging from upper teens to low 30s. These are all “freebies,” so take advantage of them!

Following mild weather for the past week or two, signs of winter appeared this past weekend with cold temperatures and snow flurries. However, the forecast for this week includes highs in the mid to upper 40s, with a 50-degree day or two at week’s end.

Fall finally arrived in the North Woods, with temperatures this week forecast for about 20 degrees cooler than last week! Look for highs in the low to mid-60s, lows in the mid-20s to low 40s ‑ and some frost advisories. This should enhance hunting and fishing opportunities, as well as make for more pleasant conditions for fall clean-up and other projects. Take advantage, as the next turn will likely not be for the better (depending on perspective)! Fall color reports indicate foliage color is now at 50-60 percent in the Hayward area.

The forecast indicates above average high temperatures in the 80s through Friday, when for the first in some time, chances for rain occur, and 50s for nighttime lows. This will be a beautiful week for recreation, home, cabin, and other projects that need attention now.
